This slide was triggered just to the north of Daisy Pass outside of Cooke City. It is unknown if anyone was caught. The deepest part of the crown is upwards of six feet. It was likely triggered in an area where the slab was thinner then propagated into a deeper part of the snowpack. Photo: S. Strenge

This slide occured just to the south of Daisy Pass outside of Cooke City. It was triggered by a snowmobiler who ended up with his sled fully buried. Fortunately the rider wasn't buried or injured. The avalanche likely failed on facets near the ground. Photo: S. Strenge

This slide was found by skiers up Dudley Creek on Christmas Day. It appears to be a natural that occurred a few days ago. The crown was 1-2 feet deep and 600-800 feet wide. It occurred on a NE facing slope and failed on facets near the ground. Numerous other avalanches were observed in the area. Photo A. Whitmore
