This slide near Cooke City was snowmobile triggered. The slope appears to be wind loaded and the slide failed on facets near the ground. Photo M. Menge
This large slide occurred near Gardiner Montana. It was triggered by a human induced cornice drop and partially buried a skier. The crown was estimated at 8-10 feet deep. The slope appears to be heavily wind loaded and the slide failed on deeply buried facets. Photo I Mcintosh.
