We saw this recent natural avalanche and three others of similar size on 1/30. They probably slid earlier in the week (1/25-1/26). These show the types of areas where it may be more likely to trigger an avalanche -- wind loaded, and faceted near rocks and trees. Photo: GNFAC

This avalanche in the Northern Madison Range ran in the last 72 hours (1/26-1/28). This occured in wind loaded terrain and likely failed on depth hoar near the ground. Photo: M. Young
