From an email: "Toured up to the head of Storm Castle Creek today. Two to three feet of snow at the end of the road, facets, facets, facets to the ground. Didn't actually get any signs of instability on the 3.5ish mile skin up into the headwaters of Storm Castle Creek. Four to five feet of snow up at 9,000'. Pretty dense above about a 1' of facets on the ground. No signs of avalanches on the southern and western slopes of Mt. Bole and Divide Pk.
Observed an older crown at 9,000' below a steep NE face of the unnamed peak west of Divide Pk. Several crowns in hanging snowfields above as well. Pretty good pile up of snow for only a 100' vertical slope. Looked liked there were several other sizable crowns on the NE aspects wrapping back east to Divide Pk. as well." Photo: A. Whitmore
